What a cookie is
A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser. Some cookies are essential to make a site work; others measure how it is used, or remember a choice you made. This policy covers cookies and the equivalent browser storage this website uses, and works alongside our Privacy Policy.
How consent works on this site
Nothing that is not strictly necessary is set until you choose. When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. “Accept” and “Reject” carry equal weight. You can change your mind at any time using “Cookie settings” in the footer of every page.

These do not require consent under UK law because the site cannot work as intended without them. We keep this list as short as possible.

Analytics (only set if you accept)
If you accept, we load Google Tag Manager, which in turn loads Google Analytics 4. These are provided by Google Ireland Ltd / Google LLC and measure how the site is used — which pages are visited, and when a visitor clicks to call, WhatsApp, email, register as crew or apply for a job — so we can see what is and is not working. We do not use this data for advertising, and no advertising cookies are set by this site.

Google Tag Manager (container GTM-W7HNVR9P) is the mechanism that loads Analytics; on its own it does not set tracking cookies. We do not add any other tag to this container.
Google Search Console
We use Google Search Console to monitor how this site performs in Google Search. It does not set any cookie on your browser or track visitors to the site — it works from Google's own index and from a one-off site-ownership check, not from anything running in your browser. It is listed here for completeness, not because it sets a cookie.
The enquiry form
The contact and enquiry form on this site does not itself set a cookie. Submitting it sends your message to our server over an encrypted connection, which emails it directly to Cara — it does not pass through Recruitly or any other third party. See “Who receives your data” in the Privacy Policy for what happens to that information.
Third-party pages you may be sent to
Some actions on this site hand you off to a provider's own website, which sets its own cookies under its own policy, not ours:
- Apply for a job or register your CV: Recruitly's own application pages, and hiree.link.
- Crew documents: Crewdentials.
- Background verification: CrewPass.
Check each provider's own cookie policy before using their site. Leaving caraleesyachtcrew.com for one of these is your choice, not something this site does automatically.
Changing your choice
Use “Cookie settings” in the footer of any page to see or change your choice. Rejecting removes consent for analytics; any Google Analytics cookies already set will expire naturally or can be removed by clearing cookies in your browser settings.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if the cookies this site sets change — for example if a new service is added. The “Who receives your data” section of the Privacy Policy and the tables above are kept in step with what the site actually does.
